Situated only a few minutes far from the Lake Balaton, and 10 minutes from the thermal lake of Heviz, this resort is a great starting point for any vacation throughout the year.
Keszthely is one of the most beautiful areas of Hungary; the town is situated between the embrace of the Lake Balaton and the Bakony hills. The surroundings of Keszthely are the Lake Balaton which can be found to the east and south with well developed beaches, the Small–Balaton which can be found to the west with its unique natural values and the Bakony forest which can be found to the north with its streams. Our guests arrive in a town full of attractions, historical monuments and cultural traditions. Their stay is made more colourful due to a big variety of cultural programmes, exhibitions, theatre performances, classical and salon music programmes, and last but not least gastronomic and wino–cultural festivals.
Hévíz is situated 7 kilometres from our town, which is famous for having the biggest natural thermal lake in the world. The water of the lake is warmed up by geothermic energy. The temperature of the water, in the most part of the summer, can reach between 30-35 oC and in winter it doesn’t fall below 22 oC. The water is mostly beneficial for locomotory diseases.
With its 101 rooms it is the fourth largest and also the most beautifully renewed and furnished palace in Hungary. Construction of the Baroque style palace began in 1745; later it was extended and rebuilt several times.
Today the entire structure is listed as heritage and operates as a museum and gives place to permanent exhibitions: Helikon Library & Aristocratic way of life exchibition;
